Max Kellerman is an American media personality known as a commentator for boxing and sports television. He is also an actor and starred in films such as Rocky Balboa (2006), Creed (2015) and Playmakers (2003).
Kellerman began working as a co-host on ESPN First Take on July 25, 2016, and had worked as a studio commentator on two shows, including Friday Night Fights and Around the Horn
Max Kellerman was born on August 6, 1973, in the Bronx, New York to Henry Kellerman and Linda Kellerman. He is an alumnus of Public School 41 in Greenwich Village where he grew up. He graduated from Hunter College High School in 1991 and then Columbia University, where he earned a degree in history in 1998.
Sports broadcasting career
Kellerman’s career began as a teenager with a cable television program about professional boxing in New York called Max on Boxing.
Despite its simplicity, the show caught the attention of the boxing community and champions such as the now retired Mike Tyson. Shortly after graduating from college, Kellerman landed an analyst job with ESPN for the boxing series Friday Night Fights. On March 9, 2009, Kellerman mutually completed his work with ESPN radio and subsequently continued his boxing broadcast work at Home Box Office, HBO. The network originally signed him up for the Boxing After Dark telecast, but he joined the main team at HBO World Championship Boxing in 2007.
Kellerman reportedly weighed in on sports and pop on CNN American Morning and other culture shows, as announced by the television network on May 12, 2010. That same year, he worked as a midday host at ESPNLA 710.
He also notably covered the Floyd Mayweather, Jr. Boxing match against Manny Pacquiao for HBO in May 2015 – a match for which he was criticized for allegedly “patronizing” boxing legend Philipino. On July 25, 2016, Kellerman was then selected to co-analyze First Take, permanently replacing Skip Bayless.
He currently combines his work with that of color commentator on HBO World Championship Boxing and HBO Boxing After Dark.
His acting skills as Airman Joseph in Sharknado 3: Oh No Hell! were described as not too bad for a TV host. He appeared as “himself” playing the role of a boxing analyst in the last two Rocky films; was credited as Creed himself as well as in Real Husbands of Hollywood.

Kellerman grew up in a family of three brothers, including his beloved younger brother, Sam Kellerman, who was murdered on October 17, 2004 in his apartment on the 1400 block of Vista Street in Los Angeles. and up-and-coming artist by repeatedly headbutting with a hammer and setting his apartment on fire.
Sam Kellerman was only 29 at the time of his murder. Butler was later apprehended during an investigation and sentenced to 29 years in prison.

According to him, it was at a college party when they were both drunk and that was the only time he hit a woman.
