Since the founding of the Jolie-Pitt union, the power couple has remained continually relevant to a number of different issues that are almost hard to keep track of. From the subject of Brad Pitt’s children with his spouse to their fidelity, the family has certainly kept us on our toes as we wait for more information. Since they intrigue us so much, we might as well meet them.
Brad Pitt’s children
We could also call them Angelina Joliechildren, but “potato, poh-tah-to”. The couple share 6 children. Before she started dating her movie star, Jolie had already adopted children. The couple have three biological children, but consider them all their own; Pitt even legally adopted the children she had before they were married.
The first of the sextet is Maddox Chivan. He was born on August 5, 2001 in Cambodia and fortunately for him, adopted on March 10, 2002 by Angelina Jolie. His birth name was Rath Vibol, as much as we respect his heritage, we can’t help but thank God that his name is now Maddox. His parents describe him as a professional big brother and a true intellectual.
The apple didn’t fall far from the tree, as Maddox is closely following in his parents’ footsteps in the movie industry. Maddox appeared in his father’s film, World War Z and will be in touch with his roots in a film directed by his mother about Cambodia.
Known for her famous paparazzi death stare, Zahara Marley, formerly Teena Adam, was adopted by Angelina Jolie on July 6, 2005. Had AIDS. Apparently it was “just” malnutrition, dehydration and salmonella poisoning, slow the horses down.
She was described by her mother as motherly and girly, all we know for sure is that the girl has an average death stare.
Two years later, a Vietnamese baby found its way into Angelina Jolie’s heart and home. Pax Thien was born on November 29, 2003 and adopted on March 15, 2007. Formerly Pham Quang Sang, he is the only member of the Jolie-Pitt gang not to be with them from childhood. As a result, he had an intense fear for the paparazzi which was a struggle for him to overcome. Her name was given to her by her late maternal grandmother, Marcheline.
If you are looking for baby names, here is an idea. His name ‘Pax’ means peaceful and his middle name ‘Thien’ is of Vietnamese origin and translates to ‘heaven’. Its name therefore means “peaceful sky”.
The couple welcomed their first biological child on May 27, 2006. Shiloh Baptist is a bit of a tomboy and that comes across vividly in her choice of dress and boyish haircuts. She was indeed born in Namibia far from the paparazzi and the limelight. The Jolie-Pitt’s made a whopping $7.5 million on the photos of the newborn and donated the sum to undisclosed charities. This amount makes us sweat!
The ten-year-old prefers to be addressed as ‘John’ or ‘Peter’ and her parents support her on her gender exploration journey. She was just a tiny baby when her older brother Pax was adopted, the two have since become an explosive duo, Jolie often jokes that they are ‘paying’ for what she has endured by her own mother when she was young.
Subsequently twins, Knox Leon and VivienneMarcheline were born on July 12, 2008. Knox is said to look a lot like his father, often dressing like him and wearing the same accessories. Vivienne, on the other hand, is the epitome of all things girly, she loves “pink and princesses”. She certainly already has an affinity for acting and starred alongside her mother in ‘Maleficent’ as the child version of Princess Aurora AKA Sleeping Beauty.
That sums it all up, Brad Pitt’s children are as different as their different descents, rumor has it that there will soon be an addition of a young Syrian boy to the Jolie-Pitt clan. It would be the Von Trapp family again, without the singing, or the…OK which was a bad metaphor.
Brad Pitt’s wife
Except for people who are not yet born, there is no one who has not heard of Angelina Jolie. She first stepped onto our screens in 1982 as a child, alongside her father, Jon Voight in the movie, Lookin To Get Out. It was her appearance in the screen adaptation of the video game Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) that really set her off. Since then, everything she touches turns to gold.
In addition to her acting career, she is also deeply absorbed in humanitarian work, she is an ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and has carried out more than 40 field missions. She also stimulated the “Angelina Effect”, after openly discussing her mastectomy and oophorectomy, in an effort to help women make healthy choices.
She is definitely a force to be reckoned with. Her relationship with Brad Pitt began over a decade ago, and although they’re constantly amid divorce rumours, the couple continues to go from strength to strength.
Brad Pitt’s brother
The actor has two siblings, one of whom is his brother, Douglas Mitchell Pitt, commonly known as Doug Pitt. Born on November 2, 1966, he is currently a businessman, investor and philanthropist. He is married to Lisa Pitt and has definitely made a name for himself in his field. The majority of his work is based in East Africa and carries out water projects as a board member of WorldServe International.
Doug Pitt became Goodwill Ambassador for the United Republic of Tanzania in 2010. Coincidentally, the three Pitts have projects in Africa although they are not related.
