Matt Breida is an American professional football player who began his professional career in 2017 as a vacant free agent for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). Matt Breida Bio
Matt was born Matthew John Breida on February28. 1995 in Brandon, Fla. He attended Nature Coast Technical High School in Brooksville, Florida, where he played high school football for the Sharks. As a junior, Matt Breida was the team’s backtrack.
After graduating high school, he moved on to GeorgiaSouthern University for his college football career. In his sophomore year, Matt Breida recorded 1,485 yards (second-most by a GSU sophomore), 17 touchdowns on 171 carries, 8 receptions for 97 yards and one touchdown. The following year, he got even better, rushing for 1,609 yards (second in the conference) and 17 touchdowns on 203 conference-leading carries. His second and middle junior yards per carry are the top two in school history.
In his senior year, those numbers dropped drastically in part due to the fact that he was transferred to a triple-option offense. He had 646 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns on 168 carries, along with 11 receptions for 53 yards and 2 touchdowns. Despite his poor final season, Matt placed sixth in school history.
NFL career
Due to his very poor record last year, MattBreida was not invited to the NFL Combine. However, he attended the Pro Day and did very well. He later signed with the San Francisco 49ers on May 4, 2017 as an undrafted free agent.
On September 10, 2017, he made his professional debut in the season opener game against the Carolina Panthers, finishing his rookie season with 465 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, 21 receptions, 180 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. Matt Breida is Terri and Mike Breida’s adopted son. Although he’s often referred to as the black boy with white parents, it’s no problem for the regressor, who is eternally grateful to the only parents he’s ever known.
The couple adopted Matt on March 2, 1995, just two days after he was born, he has done a very good job raising him into the man he has become. According to the player, although the couple didn’t have much, they gave him everything they could. Despite the difference in skin color, Terri and Mike are Matt’s true mother and father in every way, and the player sees them no differently.
The couple married when they were both 25 years old, living in Philadelphia. They always wanted to have children, but after trying for 10 years without getting a positive result, they quietly gave up hope of having their own biological children. They later moved to Spring Hill, where Terri worked as a nurse in a Dade City hospital. There, Terri experienced an incident that prompted her to be adopted.
After going through all the necessary adoption processes, Mike and Terri were certified. On March 2, 1995, her adoption agency called to inform her of a two-day-old boy whose single mother already had two older children and could not afford to care for a third. Without thinking twice, the couple jumped at the offer and took Matt. They later adopted a second child, Josh, who is two years younger than Matt.
Unlike Josh, who wants his true knowledge of his mother, Matt doesn’t care. He knows his biological mother and father were 1:5 and 1:6, and he also knows that he has an older brother and sister somewhere on the planet. Also, the soccer player knows that his biological mother put him up for adoption hoping that he would have a better life than she could give him. That’s all he knows and at least for now it’s all he wants to know. According to him, he has never considered knowing his parents as he is happy and grateful to be the Breidas’ son.
The star player watched both his parents for life being disabled. It started with his father, who was stricken with life-threatening meningitis. Although he survived, he became permanently mentally disabled because the disease left him with irreversible brain damage that also affected his memory and problem-solving ability. In 2003, he was involved in a car accident that eventually confined him to a wheelchair. This was a very difficult time for the family and they had to move from where they lived to an apartment. However, they were able to return to a house two years later.
As if that wasn’t enough trouble, Terri was involved in a more horrific accident in 2006 and dismembered her legs. Now she moves in a wheelchair.
Matt Breida’s wife
Matt married his high school sweetheart, Silvana Breida (née Paonessa), in April 2018. She was born on February 2, 1994 in Brooksville, Florida to Angela and Frank Paonessa. Silvana has two siblings – Dominic (brother) and Santina (sister). She attended Nature Coast High with her husband and graduated in 2013.
During high school, they were soccer teammates. As a junior, Silvana was the team’s kicker. In 2011, she became the first female soccer player in Hernando County history when she made her debut in the game that ended in a 42-0 lead for the Sharks. At the end of the season, Matt led the team in scores, followed by Silvana in second place. However, this was her first and last season in pigskin sport. In addition to soccer, Matt’s wife also played soccer. In fact, it was her best sport.

Matt Breida may not be the tallest player in the NFL, but his 5’7″ height and 91 kg weight didn’t stop him from fulfilling his duties on the field.
