Who is Richard Sandrak (Little Hercules)?

Richard Sandrak was born in Ukraine on April 15, 1992, but moved to Pennsylvania with his parents, Pavel Sadrak and Lena Sandrak, when he was 2 years old. His father, a taekwondo coach and world champion martial artist, believed in his son’s ability to catch up in the sport and involved Richard in light training and coaching at a young age. Frank Giardina, owner of a fitness center, was hired by Pavel in order to help Richard increase his chances of becoming known. Lena Sandrak, Richard’s mother, is an aerobics competitor. so it’s safe to say that fitness was a way of life at the Sandrak household.

The family then moved to California with the intentionsto get involved in show business. By the age of six, Richard had acquired the skills, strength and experience necessary for expertise in bodybuilding. He dedicated his time to training hard and didn’t mind distracting friendships.

His father’s watchful eyes on him ensured that his bodily form remained intact; the man never let his son indulge in junk food like other kids, he was dieted many times. However, Richard Sandrak said it was his choice to fully commit to diets and bodybuilding, and not because his father forced him to.

Richard’s diligence began to pay off when he began to be recognized for the feat he achieved with his body as a child. He started participating in competitions and getting promotional offers for nutrition products. He participated in many television and radio shows and also photographed several magazines.

His Hollywood journey began in 2009, when he played the lead role in the film, Little Hercules in 3D. As a result, “Little Hercules” has become the name he is most associated with.

What happened to him?

As Richard Sandrak grew older, his bodybuilding career began to fade and his family issues only made matters worse. The relationship between his father, Pavel, and his hired trainer, Frank Giardina, became strained when Frank came to believe that Pavel’s upbringing was practically criminal. This earned Frank a death threat from Pavel when conditions began to plunge in Sandrak’s home.

Pavel separated from his family after he physically assaulted his wife, broke his wrist and broke his nose, forcing Richard to call the police and have him arrested. Pavel was imprisoned for this and while he was away, Lena and Richard Sandrak left him. After his release from prison, Pavel was placed under psychiatric supervision.

Lena later came to her son’s defense when medical experts claimed that Richard Sandrak might have used steroids to enhance his muscles. The reason for the medical claim was because Richard was strong enough to press his own weight three times and his body had less than 1% body fat, as revealed in a documentary titled The World’s Strongest Boy. Doctors claimed that it was impossible for a person under the age of 10 to have such a body.

Where is he now?

Now elderly, Richard Sandrak no longer prioritizes bodybuilding and he ended up giving up his career when he became bored after his father was imprisoned.

Richard currently works as a stuntman at Waterworld and he had expressed a desire to become an engineer for NASA. Although weight training is no longer a priority for Richard, he still does cardio exercises.
