BIOGRAPHY
Eldest son of the actor Humberto Zurita and the actress Christian Bach, Sebastián was born into a family linked to art and acting, on November 22, 1986, in Mexico City. Accustomed to being persecuted by the media, his parents decided to keep Sebastián away from show business and his career. Sebastián began by dedicating himself, with discipline, to sports, excelling in Tae Kwon Do, field hockey, soccer, horse riding, fencing, among others. However, he decided to follow in his parents’ footsteps and studied acting. When his parents were in charge of the production of the telenovela Cañaveral de Ciencias (1996), a story about two lovers who have known each other since they were children, they found out that Sebastián had requested an audition to be part of the cast. Sebastián took the opportunity and won the audition and the role, which became his first experience in front of the camera.

He returned to television, several years after studying traditionally, with the telenovela In the name of love (2008-2009) in the role of Emiliano Sáenz Noriega, over 169 episodes. The success of the novel allowed him to work on other projects such as Wild Heart (2010), When I Fall in Love (2010), The Impostor (2014), The Unforgivable (2015), among others. In film, the actor has appeared in films such as Fallen Angel (2010), Eddie Reynolds and Los Ángeles de Acero (2014), Game of Heroes (2016), 3 Idiots ( 2017), How to Cut Your Slob (2017) and Everything Bad (2018), among others. On the big screen , Felipe Cazals’ The Citizen Buelna was the film that opened the doors for him in the industry: “It was what made many producers talk to me about casting me in other Mexican productions.” Rafael Buelna’s role proved to the industry that he was ready to abandon heartthrob roles and instead start exploiting the dramatic side of him.

In 2020 he created and starred alongside his brother, Emiliano Zurita, in the Amazon Prime Video original series How to Survive Single . In the words of its creator, the series explores relationships in full modernity, and questions whether traditional love still exists. The idea arose during several sleepless nights, “I had just gone on a trip with childhood friends. It was chaos, we were all single and we thought we were going to hook up a lot but in reality it was all chaos, that’s what it was inspired by.” Sebastián wrote 8 pages and presented the project to his brother Emiliano Zurita, with whom he turned it into a ten-episode series that was broadcast on Amazon Prime Video. He wrote 8 pages and finished developing it together with his brother, Emiliano Zurita.

Sebastián’s idea became a ten-episode series that was broadcast on Amazon Prime Video. For Sebastián, How to Survive Single has marked a before and after in his career, and he committed himself to the production from the beginning. The casting to find the perfect cast lasted 5 months, as the actor, creator and protagonist wanted to find new Mexican talents. In addition to writing with his brother, Sebastián has formed a joint production house: Addiction House; Emiliano takes care of the creative side, while he focuses on keeping the business healthy.

Sebastián Zurita has several jobs lined up, including a film with Netflix that he cannot talk much about at the moment. In addition, he was confirmed within the main cast of the second season of The Game of Keys along with Maite Perroni and Humberto Busto; The series would begin filming in October 2020 but nothing is certain yet. As for personal projects, he assures that he has been waiting for the perfect moment to develop something with his father, the Mexican actor Humberto Zurita, but he has a very tight schedule.
