Dylan Tennant has been in the Big Brother house for two weeks and has so far made a good impression among his new housemates as he's failed to come close to being nominated for eviction. However, this isn't the first time the DJ has appeared on television as he featured in an episode of Channel 4's The Last Leg in 2012, five years before he became an amputee.
Before entering Big Brother, the 39-year-old opened up about the horror accident that saw him lose his leg following a motorcycle accident in Tenerife. Dylan said his foot was left severely damaged when he was hit head-on by a taxi in 2015.
Following the horror collision in the Canary Islands, doctors were unable to save his foot and in 2017 his leg was amputated. He had to learn how to walk again and has bravely documented his whole journey on YouTube.

Dylan explained that doctors had initially tried to save his foot but he could 'never walk properly on it'. Dylan told his YouTube channel: "I was hit by a taxi which threw me across the road and broke my foot in half, completely just smashed my foot up. I came into hospital and they were actually going to amputate my foot then but they decided not to and decided to save the foot."
He continued: "I have had lots of problems with it. It has been infected. It swells up when it is hot and it hurts inside when it is cold. I think every month for the past year and a half I have had some sort of problem with it. I had a really, really serious infection three weeks ago, where I woke up one day and I just could not walk on it, it was just absolute pain in my foot."
Dylan was given medication, yet this failed to treat the infection, which meant that his leg had to be amputated.
Before entering the house, Dylan explained how losing his leg has given him the courage to take part in the reality show. He said: “I always like meeting new people and having new hurdles to jump as an amputee. It is going to be an interesting journey to see if I can do whatever we are asked without having any problems with staying on my leg for a certain amount of time and doing all the tasks."
When he was asked for an interesting fact about himself before he entered the house, and revealed he’d been on a TV show before. He said: "I appeared on a TV show called The Last Leg about amputees - two years before I lost my leg!".
The Last Leg aired on Channel 4 in the summer of 2012 as it originally ran alongside the 2012 Summer Paralympics every night following the main coverage. The show was anchored by Australian comedian Adam Hills and co-hosted by Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker and featured various guests, with Dylan appearing on the show.
Watch Big Brother at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
