Hill Harper is an actor and author. He is best known for his character Sheldon Hawkes on CSI: NY, but he has a ton of credit for his name and other parts of his life will surely be of interest to his fans.
Hill Harper Bio
Hill Harper was born Francis Eugene Harper on May 17, 1966. His parents had their son in Iowa City and from the age of 7 they allowed him to test his talent for acting. Hill Harper graduated from Bella Vista High School in 1984 before graduating magna cum laude from Brown University in 1988. In 1992, he graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School. Not enough, Harper also received a Masters of Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government, also at Harvard.
He has not given up his artistic flair with this study. While at Harvard, he was a full-time member of the Black Folks Theater Company in Boston. After graduating from the Ivy League, Hill Harper decided he just wanted to act. He moved to Los Angeles and began his acting career.
Hill Harper gained traction in 1993 when he landed a recurring role on the series Married… with Children by Fox. He also made his film debut with a short film called Confessions of a Dog. Spike Lee gave him his first feature film role in Get on the Bus (1996). He has continued to show his versatility in a variety of roles, even starring as “Hard Rock” in the 2015 Off-Broadway play Toast alongside a host of other theatrical performances. As of 2017, Hill Harper took on the role of Dr. Marcus Andrews in the ABC series The Good Doctor.
As previously mentioned, Hill Haper is also an author. Hill Harper is part of the National Treasury Committee for Obama for America.
Harper has also won a number of awards over the course of his career, winning the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series three years in a row for his performance on CSI: NY where he starred as Dr. Sheldon Hawkes played. His writing was also recognized. In 2014, his book Letters to an Incarcerated Brother: Encouragement, Hope, and Healing for Inmates and Their Loved Ones was nominated by the NAACP Image Awards in the Outstanding Literary Work – Nonfiction category.
Hil Harper was twice named as one of People Magazine’s “Sexiest Men Alive,” in 2004 and 2014. In 2011, the actor was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, but thankfully received a clean bill of health after undergoing treatment.

She was one of the first black anesthesiologists to practice in the United States.
