BIOGRAPHY
Eugenio Derbez is a Mexican actor, comedian, producer, screenwriter, businessman and director who was named by Variety as the “most influential Hispanic man in the entertainment industry.” Thanks to his career, Derbez is recognized not only in Mexico, but also in the rest of Latin America as well as in the United States. Derbez’s career began in the comedy programs that he wrote, produced and directed and which were called Al Derecho y al Derbez (1993-1995), Derbez en siempre (1999), XHDRBZ (2002-2007), Vecinos (2005 -2006) and The P. Luche family (2002-2012). His film projects began to receive attention with the films Sangre de mi sangre (2007) and La misma luna (2007). Later, he would participate in Jack and Jill (2011) alongside Adam Sandler and in Girl in Progress (2012), reuniting with director Patricia Riggen. His film From Him No Returns Are Accepted (2013) would break several records in Mexico and the United States and would become one of the highest-grossing films in the history of Mexican cinema. This feat would give him the opportunity to lend his voice in The Book of Life (2014) and, later, he was able to embark on the comedies How to be a Latin Lover (2017) and Hombre al agua (2018) alongside Anna Faris. In 2018, Eugenio Derbez will move away from comedy to participate in the remake of El Complot Mongol . Eugenio Derbez is the father of actress Aislinn Derbez and actor Vadhir Derbez. He is currently married to singer Alessandra Rosaldo, best known for being part of the group Sentidos Opuestos.
